An archival limited-edition print of the original commissioned painting Bloom 1, created with golden sandstone gathered from Grass Valley, California.
I crushed and ground the gathered sandstone into pigment in my studio, then worked it directly into the original canvas. Its natural variations created the warm gold tones and mineral textures within Bloom 1; allowing the landscape itself to determine the palette.
Created as part of my Blooming series, Bloom 1 is my interpretation of what begins to grow after fire. The work reflects regeneration and the quiet return of life, transforming a material drawn from the land into an expression of renewal.
This archival giclée edition faithfully reproduces the original painting’s color, gesture and texture. Printed with archival inks on fine-art paper or canvas, it preserves the visual story of the gathered sandstone but does not contain the raw pigment itself.
