An archival limited-edition print of the original painting Lake Tahoe 1, created with materials gathered from Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada landscape.
I gathered charcoal from Desolation Wilderness, volcanic basalt and water from Lake Tahoe. The charcoal and basalt were crushed and ground into pigments in my studio, then combined with the lake water and worked directly into the original canvas. Their natural variations created the smoky blacks, volcanic greys and mineral textures within the work.
Lake Tahoe 1 brings together fire, volcanic stone and water; not simply depicting Lake Tahoe, but carrying the physical elements of its landscape within the original surface.
This archival giclée edition faithfully reproduces the original painting’s color, gesture and texture. Printed with archival inks on fine-art paper or canvas, it preserves the visual story of the gathered materials but does not contain the raw pigments themselves.
Limited edition of 50 across all sizes and materials.
Signed, numbered and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
