Atlantisite, a naturally occurring green mineral found in Tasmania—was crushed and ground into pigment in my studio, then worked directly into the original canvas. Its natural variations created the layered greens and mineral textures within Bloom 5, allowing the earth itself to determine the palette.
Bloom 5 was created as part of my Blooming series; my interpretation of what begins to grow after fire. The work considers regeneration and the quiet return of life, transforming a material drawn from the land into an expression of renewal.
This archival giclée edition faithfully reproduces the original painting’s color, gesture and textural detail. Printed with archival inks on fine-art paper or canvas, it preserves the visual story of the atlantisite but does not contain the raw mineral itself.
