An archival limited-edition print of the original painting New Mexico 3, created with materials gathered across the Northern New Mexico landscape.
I gathered charcoal, sandstone, pyrite and quartz from Northern New Mexico, then crushed and ground the materials into pigments in my studio before working them directly into the original canvas. Their natural variations created the smoky blacks, warm desert tones and subtle mineral highlights within the work.
New Mexico 3 reflects the elemental character of this high-desert landscape through earth, carbon and stone; not simply depicting Northern New Mexico, but carrying its physical materials within the original surface.
This archival giclée edition faithfully reproduces the original painting’s color, gesture and texture. Printed with archival inks on fine-art paper or canvas, it preserves the visual story of the gathered materials but does not contain the raw pigments themselves.
